Dru, Xander, Harry and Sally...
Dear Juliet
I've had a good day today, giving blood at the hospital, brunch on the station, lunch at the church and now unable to stand up...
But the thing is, I thought about you the whole time.
I'd love to get you something next time I'm in London (possibly at Henry Pordes) like I used to. I find I'm feeling that nagging worry that you might or might not be all right; but my day is light and gay, I feel whimsical and fey.
That's all down to you, and the other thing is that you don't have to be perfect for me to feel this way.
A couple of quotes come to mind:
What Harry said to Sally, New Year's Day:
"I love that you get cold when it's seventy-one degrees out. I love that it takes you an hour-and-a-half to order a sandwich. I love that you get a little crinkle above your nose when you're looking at me like I'm nuts!"
What Xander said to Dru, not on New Year's Day:
“Because I love the way you walk down a street
with no idea what’s in front of you. I
love the way your eyes get big as saucers when you look at your roses. I love the way you fight. I
even love the way you clean your fangs in the morning. So don’t doubt for a second that if you leave me, I won’t want to go on
living.”
Funnily enough, you always got quite the crinkle above your nose when you looked at me quizzically and I always liked it. You don't have to be some pinnacle of perfection, you just have to be you.
I always said you were the best gal in all the world, didn't I?
Love,
James
