Good Morning, Gorgeous (Augmented)!

Dear Juliet

Yeah, you're really hot...

Oh sorry, forgot myself!

Okay. Right. I've got a shift tonight and there was the usual emergency, but I'll send this one off at 7.45 am your time and write something later on tonight (ca. 3.00 pm your time). However, I'll probably be knocked out until early Thursday morning your time as the guy from Zen's coming between noon and three my time, Thursday 7th.

Anyway, had a thought.

Over the past six years as a social care worker, I've had an awful lot of experience talking to people with concerns so I do know what to do. La Petite Concierge had a review about three years ago and I was asked what I thought I was best at. I said "conversationalist-in-chief." My father was a natural public speaker and could do it "off the cuff" ie without notes; and at the age of forty-four I found out I'd inherited the ability.

It's actually explained in chapter 17 of Dear Miss Landau, pp. 60-61.

Just thought I'd mention it.

Another funny thought: it's a pity I can't send Dru to watch over you for a couple of days. She does tend to do as she wishes but, who knows, she seems to pop up when it's logically necessary so maybe you'll get a sense of her...

Everything should be all right. I've just had so much experience of British firms getting everything wrong that my paranoia is eminently justified. We are disorganised idiots.

Oh, and I'll be in London 12th-15th May inclusive. I'll be sure to take some photographs for you at the very least. Maybe find you some first edition of something...

I always have breakfast at the Co-Pilots Bar and Kitchen, Heathrow Terminal 4, before I go home. I flew to Australia from there nearly thirty-eight years ago.

Maybe I'll take flight again one day, not to Australia but to L.A...

Love,

James
