Reassurance (Ben & Jerry's)

Dear Juliet

That seemed like the best title to use. Everything should be back in order by 7th May (I hope), and in the meantime you've got my smartphone number, my earlier blog posts here, Differently Wired (I guess), all four Dru novellas (not, admittedly, the slightly revised 2023 versions) and Dear Miss Landau (DML) itself in either paperback or audiobook versions. Both Wired and DML can be found in Amazon (US).

I was going to say don't eat too much Ben & Jerry's or cry into your pillow, but I have sheepishly to admit it'd be nice to think you might do so if you miss me.

For my part, I shall worry 'til we're back in contact and you're singing down the wire. I'll try and write a few extra blog posts in the meantime and perhaps the best thing to do (with or without Ben & Jerry's) is reassure you, quite simply, that you don't have to attain some impossible pinnacle of perfection to be liked by me. Or by anyone else, for that matter.

I liked the girl who gave me a warm look over the top of her glasses in 2010.

I liked the girl who looked like she was going to run away when we were briefly left alone that morning on Melrose.

I liked the girl who sent me her picture in New Orleans that day.

There are other moments, more than I can say.

It won't be long. Tomorrow will be another day.

Love,

James
