The Rock and Wenlock

I'm still somewhat influenced by that I Play Rocky trailer, and there is one pretty exact analogy: I was never willing to sell out. Some well-meaning friends suggested I change the names in the Dru Quartet, some well-meaning friends now sleep with the fishes.

Well, no they don't but I just ain't gonna.

I love my dear old Dru and that is true, but the moments and interplay as they stand could only take place between Spike, Dru and Xander. That's just how it is.


Anyway, that's it. Just thought I'd say so, get it off my chest. It's a healthy thing to do.

Okay, on other matters I had to go to somewhere called Much Wenlock the other day. I found out there's an ancient historic priory there (the house next door is owned by the former actress Gabrielle Drake) which sounds vaguely similar to the original Monastery of Deer. They both have the remains of libraries, although I called the one at Deer the scriptorium.

Anyway, I'll try and get some pictures next time I'm in the area.

Incidentally, Gabrielle Drake had a part in UFO; which evolved into Space: 1999.

So I haven't got any photos of Wenlock Priory yet, but in the meantime here are some of the later Abbey of Deer. No one was quite sure exactly where the original monastery was until recently.

They're both a lot older than the Carmel Mission and the nearby Carmelite monastery, but the main aim's the same...

Two recent occurrences reminded me of time's ripple effect ( in which one tiny alteration to the past can drastically change the future ) and the tantalising possibility of a resurrected  Buffy the Vampire Slayer making an end run around the ripple by following a metaphorical Yellow Brick Road to a glorious and surprising finale.. Buffy the Infantry Officer...

Buffy the Vampire Slayer : New Sunnydale 's pilot  has been filmed, Sarah Michelle Gellar is working with a crack team to continue ( not reboot) the Buffy saga and Ryan Keira Armstrong is an extremely talented young actress. So what could possibly go wrong? Just about everything, probably. And before anyone else does, I will admit my own bias. Yes, I think they should all do it my way but that's not going to happen. There are about three main reasons which, from my skewed perspective, mean that Buffy II is most likely buggered. The first one's a doozy! Of All the Gin Joints in All the Towns in All the World... (part one)

I've talked a lot about all those strange coincidences which came together for me as easily as pie and all the disasters which befell Buffy because they didn't do it my way, so it wouldn't surprise me if most of you think I'm full of shit. That no one could be that lucky. That it was all coincidence. That, like Psycho-Pirate in the original Crisis on Infinite Earths (1986), I'm locked up in Arkham Asylum, gibbering about multiple universes ...
